3.Asforme,adversitysometimescanbetreasuresimpartingmeabrand-newperspectiveoflife.11yearsago,IwasungentlysenttoamunicipalhospitalinmidChinatotakeacerebraloperationafterfallingdowntotheconcretegroundaccidentally.Lyingonthebed,Iwasparalysedbytheverythoughtofdeath.Fortunately,12hourslater,Iwokeupfromanesthetizedconditionandtheoperationwasquitesuccessful.Buttheensuingconvalescenceseemedmoreharrowingandexcruciating,sincetheauxiliaryintravenousinjectionswereendlessandtormentedmealltheday.Now,Icantellthattheunexpectedspellfromschoolnotonlyseparatedmefrommyfriendsforamonth,butalsosegregatedmefromthepreviousselfforever.Someadultsdonotgetachancetointrospecttheirlivesuntilsomecalamitiesbefallthem,butI,aseven-year-oldgirl,byenduringsuchanepisode,hadachangeofheart.Thesheerlyparalysingfearofdeath,thesporadicthroesofthewound,togetherwiththeisolationfromotherchildernwhoplayedoutsides,transformedmeintoamaturegirlwhoforthefirsttimebegantotreasurehappytime,cogitatetheunprecedentedquestionsaboutlife,andevenmeticulouslyplanedformyfuture.IfitseemsthatIammorepreparedthanmypeers,Ioweittomywrenchedaccident.Tosumup,travailsandthroesofadversitycanbeinvaluabletreasurestousinmanysituations.
