?Today the class’s video on “The ecology and plastic pollution for Ocean…” brought me to worry about my hometown river in China. When I was a child, my hometown river was transparent and cleaning, and you could see the bottom of the river in the riverside. However, increasing the development of the society, people have treated the river like trash bin. Now the river is suchthe dirty that the water is full of pollution. Therefore, I believe the causes of water pollution have mainly to do with threepollution sources.
?One of the pollution sources is agricultural and industrialactivities. In the agriculture, we use fertilizers and pesticides on the farms and the lawns. When this water runs off into the underground and then flows into the river. We normally use toxic pesticides for the lawns such as Golf courses in the developing country, and this waste water ultimately flows into the river. In the industry, the factory and laboratory inject a great deal of toxic waste water into the river. For example, magnanimous millstone waste water in the stone processing plants is flowed into the river in my home town. This situation is out of control in the developing country because they are such emphasis the economic developments that we lost the cleaning water as consideration.
Second of the pollution sources is how serious the oil spill is in the earth. The oil spill drips from cars, machinery, boats, and fueling station. This oil spill carried with raining water flowsinto the nearest river. These small drips add up over time to become a great deal of pollution on water. Sometimes, the unexpected accidents also cause oil pollution. For example, 2010 Gulf oil spilling in Mexico had made the largest accidental ocean oil spilling in history. Therefore, like most of the river, the cleaning water has become into dirty in my hometown river.
Third of the pollution sources is the plastic use. We now use many plastic produces because they are lightweight and convenient. But these are the very characteristics that help blow them from our community out to the river. Let us take a plastic water bottle for example, when you are done with it and throw it into recycle bin, most of them do not really get to the recyclingplant. There is absolutely not distinguishing garbage in the developing country. The plastic water bottles with the garbageare piled into the trash mountain. When the storm comes, the trash will easily be carried into the river, so the river has become dirty.
We discussed the water pollution causes in the agricultureand the industry, in the oil spilling, and in the plastic use. Recently I saw a movie called “The Mermaid”, and the actress, a Mermaid in the movie, said “ If there is not a drop of cleaning water in the earth, there will be nothing for you to earn much more money”. So I have a dream that one day we all people in the earth come to protect the water from the pollution, similar tothe speech by Martin Luther Kin, Jr.

Hi Royce. Wonderful introductory paragraph! I love the story and how it leads to your thesis.
I like your body paragraphs as well but the conclusion could use a little more. You can "mirror" the introduction by showing a different or parallel story or you can just talk a little more in general terms about the problem.
