7月26日至8月9日，我在华美学校参加了夏令营，度过了一段有趣又快乐的时光。
夏令营里的学习与生活多姿多彩，不仅有快乐无穷的外出活动，还有精彩的校内活动，水上拔河比赛、水上捉鱼比赛、嘉年华活动等，都让人流连忘返。然而，最有趣的是每天晚上六点半至七点的英语角活动。活动的基本要求是：你要在课堂上有好的表现，老师就会发给一张可以到英语Shopping购买商品的钱币。这种钱币硬硬的，外表图案是美元的一元币，其实这就是华美夏令营特制的仿真美元。如果你没有获得美元，四年级以下的小朋友用英语说上四五句话，四年级以上的大孩子用英语说上十句有难度的话，也可以买到一些东西。这是一个英语活动，要求全程都用英语对话。英语Shopping配有一个外教和两个助教，他们相当于商店老板与店员。每天晚上六点半至七点就是英语Shopping的开放时间，有许多小朋友排着队，拿着自己英语课上得来的仿真美元来购买自己喜欢吃的东西。每天晚上的这个时候，在英语Shopping外面排队的人特别多，真可谓是摩肩接踵，把外教和助教忙得不亦乐乎。当然，来英语Shopping买东西的人以低年级的比较多，虽然排队有点累，但从英语Shopping的`活动中，他们可以锻炼自己的英语口语，让自己学到的英语知识得到运动。如果自己的英语口语不是很好，可以通过这个活动得到加强。
这是一个别具一格的英语教学活动。在这个夏令营中我也经常会参加这个活动，让我们收获了成绩，更收获了快乐！

一天，又到了英语课。这时候小明是胆战心惊，因为他并没有把一个单词完完整整地记住。但又令他们不幸的是，今天老师来了个突然袭击——单词大抽查。“小明，上讲台上去听写。”老师一声喊到，这时候似乎他的心都已经凉了一大截。他慢吞吞地走上去，他是多么想回到没被抽到时。站在讲台上时，他的双腿是抖个不停。但在写单词时，手更是抖个不停。不一会儿，一些乱糟糟的单词在他的笔下写出。“啊，他看着自己写的单词心想到，今天可真的是完玩了。”老师一看他写的单词，似乎头上都冒着火星。但小明可够机灵，主动地把手给伸出来。虽然他怕被老师打手心，但他想到是自己没去记。他是认识到自己的错误才主动伸出手的。老师打了他两板，他咬紧双牙，眼泪没流下来。
从此以后，他就开始发奋地学习。每天晚上学到学校寝室关灯都还不肯休息，就在走廊里读上一个小时的单词。早上，不知他什么时候他又从温暖的被窝里爬了起来，把单词读了一个小时才到教室里去早读。
他开始对英语如痴如迷，空闲时都把单词挂在嘴边。英语似乎已经融入了他的生活里。如果英语一下子不存在的话，他就会像生了病一样。
从此以后，他再也没被老师批评过了。而且他还成了他们班上的一个英语高手。
